In our office, we offer patients the option of wearing lingual braces. This is a treatment option that is not well-known and only a few orthodontists offer it. These are braces that secure to the back of the teeth instead of the front. That is why they are so much more difficult to place. Since the back of the teeth are not easy to see, an orthodontist has to be incredibly good at what they do and use the tools necessary to accurately secure them.

The benefit to this type of braces really lies in the fact that the treatment is invisible. It is possible to straighten teeth and align the bite without anyone noticing. However, because more time and effort is involved, it is a more costly solution so patients should be prepared accordingly.
